“Imjustawoman (w h y)” is a work that moves in a space where the visible collides with the imperceptible, and the artistic gesture transforms into a question. The fragmentation of identity pervades the work like a constant tension: what truly manages to assert itself in the world? It explores the relationship between appearance and being, between non-existence and the failure of emergence. What remains is a suspended echo, a fragile attempt to give a name to what, in the shadows, continues to search for its own form.
The performer’s voice becomes both material and trace: stretched, fragmented, and reconfigured through the work’s sonic architecture. No longer a vehicle of certainty, it oscillates between presence and disappearance, revealing the instability of language and the difficulty of fully inhabiting a fixed identity.
